To truly make an impact in society it is extremely important to bring science closer to citizens. Metropolia has embedded the idea of co-designing and co-implementing new R&I solutions together with citizens deeply into its RDI work, to ensure the societal uptake of the new approaches and solutions.
Hence, the proposal to develop a policy coordination mechanism on public engagement practices, including citizen involvement in scientific processes, relates very closely to Metropolia’s people first approach to phenomena-based RDI solutions, where participatory co-research and inclusive RDI play a key role.
