Uskomme, että avoin näkemysten vaihto lisää ymmärrystä siitä, miten muut asian näkevät. Rakentava kritiikki ja hyvät argumentit johtavat kaikkien kannalta parempaan lopputulokseen. Keskustelu vie kaupunkiamme eteenpäin.
Keskusteluihin voit osallistua joko omalla nimelläsi tai nimimerkillä. Oman nimen käyttäminen antaa kommenteille usein nimimerkkiä enemmän painoarvoa keskustelussa. Jos et halua käyttää omaa nimeäsi, valitse nimimerkki, joka ei loukkaa muita keskustelijoita ja on helposti tunnistettavissa nimimerkiksi. Eli se ei siis ole tavanomaisen nimen kaltainen.
Kirjoittaja on aina vastuussa tekstistään. Valvomme keskustelua arkisin klo 8-16 välisenä aikana. Poistamme sopimattomat kommentit. Edellytämme, että verkkokeskustelu käydään hyvässä hengessä ja muiden keskustelijoiden näkemyksiä kunnioittaen.
Keskustelupalstoilla noudatamme seuraavaa etikettiä:
- Tutustu aineistoon ja pysy aiheessa. Harkitse mitä kirjoitat.
- Näkemyksesi on meille tärkeä. Kuuntele muita, kysy ja perustele näkemyksesi.
- Varmista, että esittämäsi tiedot pitävät paikkansa. Tiivis ja napakka teksti on pitkää selostusta parempi.
- Ole kohtelias ja rakentava. Älä loukkaa kenenkään kunniaa tai yksityisyyttä.
- Vältä kiroilua ja isoilla kirjaimilla kirjoittamista eli huutamista!
- Julkisen palvelun media on mainoksista vapaa. Ethän mainosta tapahtumia, tuotteita, palveluita tai tee suoraa poliittista tai uskonnollista mainontaa.

Protect Our Nature

I am someone who deeply values nature. For over 20 years, I’ve lived near Lippajärvi, a place of peace and natural beauty. This area has become part of my everyday life, where I walk my dog through the nature reserve, listen to birds sing, and admire the rich variety of wildlife that calls this place home.
It’s also a place where I try to give back, picking up litter left by others on the trail to the K-Market, and teaching my kids to appreciate the outdoors. For them, it’s a place of adventure and discovery—where they learn that nature is something to be cherished and protected.
That’s why I am strongly opposed to the idea of a wide, paved path with lights around the lake. Such a development would destroy the unique atmosphere and disrupt the delicate ecosystems that thrive here. Lippajärvi is home to countless species, and this natural habitat must be preserved for future generations.
There is no need for a larger, more intrusive trail. The current path is open to everyone, and those who want to experience nature should do so on its terms. All it takes is a pair of rubber boots, and you can enjoy the raw beauty of the outdoors. Isn’t that part of what makes Finland such a special place—the ability to experience wild, untouched nature right at our doorstep?
We already have plenty of wide, paved recreational paths near Pitkäjärvi. For those who prefer that, there’s no shortage of options. But places like Lippajärvi are rare, and we must protect them. The Finnish people are known for being among the happiest in the world, and much of that happiness comes from our connection to nature. We should safeguard this, not pave over it.
I urge the City of Espoo to prioritize protecting nature and the environment. In the upcoming municipal elections, I will cast my vote for the politicians who truly value green spaces and are committed to preserving them for future generations.
Let’s not take for granted the wild nature that we are lucky to still have. Let’s cherish and protect it—because once it’s gone, we won’t get it back!
